Before you sign

Before you sign on the dotted line, it is important to ensure you are informed on all aspects of the development and your agreement/contract. You should;

  • Ensure you are in a solid financial position to purchase. It is recommended that you consult a financial advisor to check the purchase is not beyond your means.
  • Ensure you are across all of the features and inclusions of the property listed in the contract and plans. You want to be sure of everything, so ask any questions you need to in order to understand every detail.
  • Ensure you are in possession of and have reviewed closely all documentation;
    • Contract of sale
    • Draft Strata Plan
    • Approved plans for the building/apartment
    • Title proposal

Do research into the developer and builder, specifically on their previous work, their licences and any insurance claims paid out. You want to ensure that they have a good track record.
